The family-run industrial paint manufacturing business is located in Old Millpark Industrial Estate in Kirkintilloch, and specialises in industrial paints to suit a wide range of businesses including blacksmiths, engineering companies, fencing companies, whisky distilleries and many more. We have an extensive product range to coat any substrate; ranging from wood to metal and concrete, and anything else requiring a coating to protect and enhance the look of the substrate. J & S Industrial Coatings Ltd were formed in 1989 by Robert M Johnston and William G Sommerville and are a family run industrial paint manufacturing business located in Old Millpark Ind Est in Kirkintilloch specialising in industrial paints to suit a wide range of businesses which include blacksmiths , engineering companies ,fencing companies, whisky distillery’s and many more.
Despite the passing of Robert Johnston in 2006 who was the companies central figure and the passing of Bill Sommerville in 2016 the staff at J & S have managed to continue the journey that they started which is not only a testament to their hard work and dedication but a credit to the time spent over the years in training the staff in order to provide you the customer with the same level of quality that have served the company so well not only in the past but also in the future years ahead.
Over the last 28 years it has remained every bit as committed to meeting customers demands as it has done from day one and is very proud in the fact that it remains one of the very few family run paint manufacturing businesses left in Scotland.
With a loyal and hard working staff in place and a loyal customer base the company has managed to grow and offers a quick and reliable service to both existing and new customers wishing to purchase paint, we offer our own delivery service (Mondays , Wednesday’s and Thursday’s) to all businesses and households located in central Scotland and for deliveries further afield we will deliver using a carrier.
We have a trade counter which is open to both businesses and members of the public from 8am – 5pm (Monday – Thursday)
and 8am – 3pm (on Friday) from which you can purchase a wide range of paints and sundries, such as brushes, roller sleeves and roller handles.

We aim to meet the customers needs at every turn and if there is a paint required that we don’t manufacture we will aim to source it from elsewhere. It’s thanks to you the customer why we have been in business for the past 28 years and we aim to meet your needs for the next 28.
